I've been to this restaurant many times over the years and it never ceases to impress my dinner company, every time. Authentic Brazilian food. Churassco is amazing and they have a cheap to go option for $8.00. Well worth the trip for the food. The decor is not impressive but the quality of the food certainly is. Service is adequate and the caipirinhas as awesome.

If only this restaurant were closer to Miami, I think we would be here at least once a week. My husband and I have been coming to Feijao com Arroz for a couple of years now, and while the service is normally spotty, the food is always excellent. We always order from the buffet (which is paid by the pound, not all you can eat). During lunch there is a meat carving station offering different steaks, sausages, ribs, pork and lamb. Since the price is by the pound (and I normally fill half my plate with their steamed vegetables and salad) my meal is never more than $ 7.00 for a large portion of everything. My husband fills his plate with rice, meats and other sides, but still never pays more than $10-11. As I don't speak Portuguese (my husband lived in Brasil), it is sometimes hard to communicate with the staff. They seem to understand Spanish some, but I think you might have a little more trouble with only English. Overall, we prefer this restaurant over Camila's and the items are always really fresh. A great place to eat lunch if you are in the Pompano area.

I make it my go-to restaurant every time I'm in Southern Florida.. In fact I like it so much that I once had lunch there 4 consecutive days in a row. Order the "picanha na grelha" for one .. 2 beautiful sirloin steaks cooked to perfection and unbelievably flavourful ( very Brazilian) which comes with fries, rices and black beans.. Easily shareable. They also have a buffet and I usually get their different types of sausage and farofa (which kinda looks like bread crumbs and is delicious with this kind of food) also their passion fruit mousse is to die for! Awesome authentic Brazilian restaurant.

The most authentic Brazilian casual-dining restaurant we've ever been to! Perfect for an afternoon lunch, or casual dinner. We were a little confused when we first went in, but then we realized that you seat yourself and go up for food when you're ready - the waitress will come around afterward - the way many restaurants in Brazil operate. The food is awesome, awesome, awesome!! I cannot wait to take family and friends there :D Buffet-style, you pay for your food by the weight of your plate - authentic Brazilian-style! My husband is Brazilian and said this is one of the best Brazilian restaurants he has been to in the US, and loves the fairness of the price!

I understand that this is the best around. For the price, lack of customer service and limited selection of non meat items, still worth the trip. The guy operating the skewers, I can hardly understand and he will try and push the lower end meats on you... But push back and demand the good stuff, you deserve it. Perfectly salted, perfectly cooked, perfect flavor. Stick to the meats and you won't regret it. They have dipping dots ice cream for an extra price. There is an option to either all you can eat, or pay by the pound. Not sure what is the better deal, but for about $20 on the all you can eat, come hungry and it won't matter. The bar is open and loud with non English speaking crowd that looks like they are having too much fun. A fight almost started while we were eating, at that was at 6pm... Must get real rowdy at night. Outside you feel like you are Ina different country, but never in danger, so park, and get your meat eating carnivore wildness on!!

I was scammed with the tip. The food is not as good as other Brazilian restaurant I have been to like Steak Brazil Miami; the ambience has the appeal of a rundown 90's club. We go to this business because it's closer and convenient and it's not my first rodeo so I know what to expect when I go. The last time we went we bought the $8.50 per pound option. The meat was not savory, kind of chewy and they only have 2 choices costela and picanha the rice and other buffet items were cold. I ordered a caipirinha against my good judgment and It was overpowered by the cachaça. We were already bumped down by the whole situation. We ask for the check and as always, regardless the amount of patrons they charged 15% tip... $5.14 tip on a 34.00 bill. For me it's ok since I normally leave always at least a 10% tip regardless the service and food because I understand the waiters are underpaid. Apparently it was not enough with the $5.14. They overcharged my credit card with an additional $4.75 for a total of the $9.89 tip, approximately 30% tip... For terrible food and service. They won't have my business again.

excellent food. not much atmosphere. there is an all you can eat option which includes waiters serving from skewers, which we had done, but next time i would just eat from the "salad" bar by the pound, since i liked the food that was on it better than the skewers

I've been here several times once for the buffet and the rest for take out dinner! I will say the Brazilian cuisine is tasty. This place is no exception but it's does has it hits and misses! The steakhouse portion very tasty, well seasoned , flavorful and over all delicious. The meats were well done when freshly placed out, however it can get a "little" I mean tiny bit chewy if they have been smoldering there for awhile. I haven't had too much problem. I have had their calamari and I will say it is a tiny bit salty for my liking. Why order it again. Thinking it was a fluke and maybe the batter was accidentally over seasoned. Which I think is the case even in its saltiness it can be tasty, a slight tweaking is needed. My favor love is the garlic rice, tooth paste and bubble gum will be needed! Service was friendly and fast. The food was okay. Nothing spectacular but it certainly isn't subpar.

Overdone meat. Super salty too. Buffet line isn't refreshed enough. Come here only at lunch if you do. I was really turned off my the 15% automatic tip. Service is pretty slow, since they know they have you already. The bar crowd is far too loud and really ruin the ambiance. Decor is non existent

Food is bad, beans are watery with no flavor, rice is hard and oily, vinaigrette is too sour, plantains are not ripe, salad options are very slim, no well done meats in barbecue, and almost no variety. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

Food is hit or miss - even on their best days, it's just average Brazilian food, and this is coming from a Brazilian. What's more disturbing is the fact that they are prone to scamming you on the tip. If you decide to chance it, triple check your bill to make sure the amounts add up; wait a few days later and make sure the amount billed on your statement matches the receipt. Don't think I'll be going back again, it's just not worth the disgusting ethics, or lack thereof.

Based on the reviews of this place, I was really looking forward to trying the food here. The food was very good, but I'm not sure I would come back. I hate to say it, but ambience does affect my experience and this place was just too bare. It felt as though some thought went into the bar area, but then the dining area just looked like the setup in a church basement. If the food had blown my mind, I would have been able to overlook it, but it was just good. Also, the service was not good at all. There were two servers and, from what I can tell, the hostess station is in the back corner of the restaurant, so we were confused when we walked in and just sat ourselves. Then waited until we made eye contact with a server to place our drink order. It was harder than you might think since the servers were either busy chatting with each other or flirting with the bar patrons. They were friendly enough when we placed orders, but they seemed more interested in their own lives than our service. Again, I was really stoked to try this place based on the reviews, but for me, the food just wasn't good enough to overcome the bad space and poor service. Bummer.

I've had Brazilian food my entire life because my mom is from Brazil, but I can't have it all the time in Ohio. I was here visiting and stopped by to try the food. It was very authentic, and so were the people here. The lunch buffet was some of the best food I've had in a very long time. I'd recommend it to anybody and I can't wait to go back.

We love this place! It's delicious and they delivery. YAY! There aren't too many of those services here. Best of all, the food comes hot as if it just got made. The prices are VERY reasonable and portions are huge. We always have enough for two meals out of our one dish. They're specials are incredibly cheap and you get a lot of variety. Definitely a great find. My favorite is the Red Snapper but everything I have tried has been excellent.

First time visitor to this place , we never got a menu we were just told about the buffet option. Needs some cleaning, its dark and looks more like a club than a restaurant . We ordered the buffet lots of meat the side dishes were ok nothing great . Pricey for the quality and ambiance . Not a repeat customer...

  • John B.

I've made a few return visits, and I've found the quality and preparation of the meat are not extremely consistent. Also, they've raised their prices a wee bit. All in all, it's still a good value if you're craving red meat.

Update: I have to downrate this restaurant one star because the last visit revealed a scaled down salad bar and overdone meat. There were not enough people to cycle the meats from the grill. The place needs a makeover, separating the bar from the restaurant-and the noise-as well as some decoration and atmosphere change. The live music is awful and so loud that patrons turn around at the door. I rate this restaurant on the success of what it was designed to be: a simple, family place with honest food, and authentic atmosphere. It succeeds because it is an authentic Brazilian place with a large bar area for Brazilians to gather, especially off work, and an eatery that offers food first over atmosphere. It is a simple place, that has bands coming in frequently at night, for dancing and listening. The salad bar is adequate. On Fridays, they offer bacalao, which you can have as an entree, as well. The meats are all done over CHARCOAL, not electric heating elements. This difference is huge in the quality of the meat. The cook knows what he is doing as well. These people seem to have come from a smaller town, more rural part of Brazil, where traditional methods are respected and expected. I believe you will not find better tasting meats at ANY other Brazilian "steakhouse". Like so many BBQ places across the country, the atmosphere is "down home", simple, and rural/small town.

Came here with a group of friends after work. Four star review on Yelp and friend had a restaurant.com gift certificate for $50 off of $100 so we were excited to dive in. So, the gift certificate recently purchased on restaurant.com is no longer being accepted. Really? Ok no biggie, we ordered the all you can eat buffet for 19.99 per person, including the Brazilian BBQ meat. Not served table side like Texas de Brazil but since less expensive no big deal to go to the station ourselves. All sides on the steam table were cold, from rice to plantains. ALL of the meat rotating on the skewers and freshly carved for us were lukewarm to cold . ALL of it. Not joking at all. Guy carving really didn't care when we told him but moved a skewer to a warmer spot once on the next go round. Service was lacking. Although drinks were refilled when asked, we were never asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything. The one positive note is that drinks were not lacking in alcohol. Please save your hard earned money and avoid eating here at all costs.

Yelpers were putting a little sunny spin on this place. Don't get me wrong. I love a good hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Read my review of this Taqueria that is PHENOMENAL ( yelp.com/biz/taqueria-y-… ), and you'll know I love a rising restaurant. The problems with Feijao are nothing that a bucket, mop, and some sanitizing liquids couldn't cure, along with perhaps a few brush ups to the decor of this dance club that has a restaurant kind of wedged into it. The table service at lunch was really good. The buffet tables had some nice stuff on them too. In a Brazilian churrasco place, though, the meat is the star. I was hoping for Beyoncé, and I got Brüno in drag. First, the guy who cuts the meat, tall bald guy, is to churrasco what Sweeney Todd was to the barber biz. His cutting board is nasty dirty. His meat that is done should be away from the flame. Some poor lamb gave its life to be a hunk of dead dry grey stuff that was passing for meat. Most of the meat was over-seasoned. The chicken, dark meat all, was so dry that had he bleached it, it might have passed for overcooked white meat. Even the door handle was sticky greasy nasty as you opened it. Not a plus. If cleanliness is next to godliness, then these folks better do a whole lot more prayin' and cleaning, and painting. and maybe stripping down those overpainted front windows to make it look a bit more like a restaurant. Unless it's just a club. Then perhaps sell it as one, and I know to take a pass.

I can't say a bad thing about this gem. The food is spectacular, the prices are fair and the service is friendly. The best meat I have had outside of my own kitchen, the sweetest plantains I have ever tasted, and the strongest drinks that a bartender can make. I can't wait to come back again and again.

Gosh, why don't they have a similar place in Miami??? We didn't drive all the way for food, but in the future, whenever we are in the neighborhood, this will well be our place to go! it's right off I-95, and with a huge Brazilian flag on the sign very easy to find. When I read on Yelp that it's by-the-pound, I imagined the place to be more spartan and fast-foodly, so I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. They have three stations. One is the salad bar, with chunks of fruit, pasta salad, greens, shredded carrots and more. There is something that looks like corn salad with shoestring fries on top. On the left is rice and beans, and a few hot dishes like chicken heart, some beef stew and lasagna. Then there is the meat station. The beef ribs is juicy and flavorful. The sausage a bit dry (but we went at around 3 so it could be sitting out). We got several pieces of picanha. One was too salty, one was too bland, but overall pretty good. The quality of meat is better than those cheap buffets like The Knife or Camilla's. The price is $6.95 a lb. For my plate it came to about $6, my husband went for seconds, and paid about $12. What an excellent deal!! I love how we can just get what we want. I heaped on a good side of greens, so for me it's much healthier than ordering a la carte. And we didn't stuff ourselves like we do when we have to pay $50 at those fancy churrascarias.

Authentic Brazilian food and atmosphere. Been born and raised in Brazil myself I couldn't have been more pleased with the overall experience! Food reflects all the goodies you would find there in authentic homemade style. It is a REALLY simple restaurant, just like one of the many you would find in Brazil. Don't expect the fanciness of churrascarias like Fogo de Chao because it is not. I was amazed to see all the staff greeting you in Portuguese and assuming you are Brazilian. I live in Colorado and don't see this quite often. The staff quickly shift to english when they found out my husband doesn't speak Portuguese. Carne-de-panela (pot roast), farofa and caipirinha were my favorites!

  • Guil M.

It definitely doesn't compare to the more upscale Brazilian steakhouses in South Florida but it's a pretty nice place for what it's worth. Make sure to come during lunch hour so that the food from the buffet area is fresh. Nonetheless, I'd recommend opting for the à la carte choice over the buffet-- the portions are pretty nice and the meat/sides are guaranteed to be fresh. The waitresses are nice and the food is good and that's enough to make me want to come back whenever I'm in the mood for Brazilian food.

I use to go to Brasilian Grille on Monroe St. in Newark, NJ all the time and that place was fantastic. Unfortunately, I moved to South Florida and have been missing my Gastro experinces in the north east. But I found this place and it satisfies some of my craving for Brasilian food. Great place for the price, highly recommend, Not the best place i've been too, but great value for your dollar. Beats paying $45 per person at Chima's on Los Olas Blvd. Be sure to order the Picanha and grab some Salpicao at the salad bar if they have it. ( most days )

This is the most truly Brazilian feeling churrascaria (steakhouse) I have found in the USA. The waitresses and waiters are all Brazilians, almost all the customers I saw were Brazilians, they had big screen TVs showing Brazilian soccer games and people screaming with enthusiasm at the bar about that. Loads of meat of many sorts, feijoada, farofa, yucca, rice, all that good stuff. And they have caipirinhas and lots of other cocktails and beer.. Come hungry!! The restaurant is located in a Brazilian/Haitian neighborhood in a Brazilian/Haitian business oriented strip mall in the most heavily Brazilian town in Florida.. So it is not a surprise that it feels very authentic, and the food is quite good!!!

Being situated in a shopping center dominated by Brazilian flags and Portuguese banners, I had confidence in the authenticity of this hidden gem that I had driven past so many times. During lunch hours, the restaurant sports a buffet which is NOT "all you can eat;" They charge by the pound. The buffet included familiar items such as sausage, farofa, rice, and beans. The rest was unknown to me but they did have a chicken dish that resembled a lasagna and chicken hearts that I didn't try. There was also a salad bar as well as the real main event: the meats. The guy at the front of the buffet carved slices of lamb, beef, and pork from roasts housed in a giant warmer. You can also request other meats from a window including fish and sirloin. I loaded my plate full and walked out very satisfied. The bill came to $8 with tax and tip included. On Friday nights they have live entertainment which I will be back for. Excellent place.

Having lived in Brasil, I take advantage any time I find Brazilian food, especially when it's this good. We chose to forego the buffet, though it looked amazing, and went for the picanha grelhada (grilled picanha steak). We ordered this for 2, which meant getting 4 fillets, 2 per person. They were seasoned and grilled exactly how I like them, with nothing more than rock salt to temper the meat. Delicious. Accompanied by a large platter of fried yuca, plantains, rice, black beans, vinagrette (sort of like pico de gallo, but with vinegar) etc. The service was great, we were well taken care of and never left waiting for anything. I will be back any time I am in the area...which, sadly, is not close by.

Growing up in Brazil, I pretty much ate everything they have to offer here. Since relocating to Florida, me and my family longed to find a taste of home, which we found through our own cooking but never in a restaurant until we found out about this place. This had everything I could dream of from back in the day: rice, beans (brown AND black!,) fried yucca, farofa, and my all-time favorite, chicken hearts! The only gripe I have is that their attempt at feijoada on Saturdays (a tradition for many Brazilians restaurants) is somewhat lame. I'd rather they focus on a good feijoada on Saturdays than just the plain-old stuff of everyday. To top it off, there is a carving station where you can get short ribs, and a few other cuts of meat, which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis so when it's gone it's gone. I had someone grab the last beef rib right in front of me one time. I have never ventured to the salad bar but it usually looks fresh. Don't forget to top off your mound of food with a little malagueta sauce but not too much, it's really HOT. The dinner service is disappointing compared to lunch. There is no carving station and the food never tastes as fresh as the lunch service. As Matt R. stated, it's per pound so don't think you can gorge yourself over and over. It can get expensive but being per pound, you're getting a lot of food for your buck.

We had a large party of 8 and they were able to seat us right away. They had a guitarist playing music which was great, but the A/C is not the best. They did have a huge fan circulating the air, so that was comfortable. You have the option of buffet by the pound or a traditional Churrascaria. The buffet has salad, rice, beans and other items. You can then choose the type of meat to complete your meal. The other option is buffet and all you can eat meat. If you look meat, then that is your best option. The quality was good and they come to your table almost every 4 minutes. The only issue that I had was the cooking time of the meat. I like med-well, but most of the meats are rare to medium. You can ask them to cook it longer, but then your wait time also increases. Overall it was a good meal.

This was a religious experience. It was my favorite restaurant I've eaten at in years loved it I'd pay twice the price but I'm not rich I highly recommend it whether you're American, Brazilian or even from another planet. outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is it that you call yourself a buffet where you charge by the pound usually people say is all you can eat for one price don't understand

Oh my, this place never ceases to amaze me! Brazilians really know how to eat!!! We have so much to learn in the U.S. The food is always top notch. Favorite lunch and dinner. "Broker Joe" Grano, Realtor(r)

I've made a few return visits, and I've found the quality and preparation of the meat are not extremely consistent. Also, they've raised their prices a wee bit. All in all, it's still a good value if you're craving red meat.
